U&U  Skips offer a range of skips from 6 cubic yards to 14 cubic yards. Our The Skip Size Guide will give you an idea of what's best for you. Skip permits are required when you place a skip on council owned land, such as a public road. If you are able to place the skip on your own land, such as a driveway, you will not require a council skip hire permit. Skip permits are issued by your local council are generally valid for 2 weeks to 1 month.

You can apply for permit yourself. However, if you would prefer us apply for the permit we can include the cost of the permit in your skip hire.

The normal skip hire period is up to 14 days. This can be extending at an additional cost per week after 14 days up to maximum rental period of one month.

Once your skip is full, simply call us and pick up can be arranged within 24 to 48 hours.

Items that are permitted in a skip include:

Bricks & Rubble / Metal / Non-Electrical Fittings / Construction Waste / Soil / Garden Waste / Wood / Domestic Waste / Furniture / Plastic

We also accept mattresses, but there will be a extra cost please call our skip hire team for more assistance.

Items that are prohibited from skips include:

Hazardous Waste / Asbestos / Batteries / TV's / Computer Monitors/ Fridges and Freezers / Fluorescent Bulbs / Chemicals / Paint / Solvents / Tyres / Medical Waste / Compressed Gas Cylinders / Oil

Plasterboard is also prohibited from skips with mixed waste. If you will be disposing of plasterboard, we can provide a plasterboard bag (extra cost) to ensure your plasterboard is kept separate from your other waste.

If you are unsure, it’s always best to phone us and ask. If you have something that can’t go in a skip, we’ll find you another way to dispose of it.

It is important that you do not overfill your skip. You should not fill the skip past the top of the sides to ensure that it will be safe to load and transport. U&U Skips Ltd can and will refuse to take a skip if it has been over-filled. If you have underestimated the amount of waste you have generated, you can consider hiring an additional skip.

When hiring a skip, our lorry driver will need access to your property in order to make the delivery and collection. Some residential areas have vehicle width and height restrictions, which we will need to be aware of at the time of booking.

Once the lorry is at your property, the skip will be unloaded to your preferred location. There should be ample space in front of the skips destination, as the lorry will have to be positioned for loading and unloading.

As a general guide, your drive or skip location should be at least 2.75m (9 ft) wide. Skip lorries can weigh more than 8 tonnes, so the ground needs to be secure and able to support the weight.

All skip hire orders are paid for at the time of ordering. Our skip hire team will process your payment over a secure line.
